Why learn
another language?
Knowing a foreign language is an acknowledgment of our responsibilities as global citizens. It is a concession that other nationalities and other cultures matter as much as our own. It is a recognition of our common humanity and our willingness to overcome our differences.
As a result, most people across the world speak at least two languages, if not more. But it's not just about opening hearts and minds, learning languages open a world of opportunities and allows us to:
Communicate in new ways
Travel the world with different eyes
Study or work abroad
Discover different cultures
Boost our career prospects
Break down barriers
Promote creative thinking
Improve cognitive growth
Languages connect people. And we can all do our part.
Is learning
a language difficult?
Learning a new language can sound very intimidating, especially when you've never learned another language before. It doesn't have to be that way!
At Lingua, our staff are committed to:
creating a relaxed learning atmosphere
helping you learn at your own pace
finding a learning style that suits you
making learning a language fun and achievable for everyone
So regardless of your background and skill level, Lingua will give you all the tools you need to succeed!
Do you
offer online lessons?
Yes, we do! We even offer two different types of online experiences for you to choose from:
Online lessons with a teacher
Teleconferencing with one of our teachers is easy: Simply register with Lingua, book a lesson, then start up Skype and off you go! We make use of a virtual whiteboard and real-time file-sharing system that let you directly interact with your teacher, as if you were in the same room.
Learn online — all by yourself
If you prefer to study on your own, then check-out our online modules, which will go live in early 2018. Consisting of ten fun and interactive lessons, you will learn basic conversational skills, making this the perfect solution for travellers and those with limited time to spare.
How much
does it cost to study at Lingua?
First and foremost, the cost of your studies at Lingua depends on whether you would like to join one of our advertised classes or take private tuition.
For advertised classes:
Click on the "Classes" tab in the top menu, select an age group and then choose the language you would like to study to display the cost.
For private tuition:
Private lessons can be customised to your specific needs and goals. This makes the cost of private tuition more variable. Please book a free, no obligations consultation to discuss your requirements and receive a personalised quote.
How much
time will I have to invest?
This varies from person to person and depends on:
your specific goals and
how quickly you would like to progress
Whatever your circumstances, it is essential that you set aside some time to practise at home what you have learned in class. That way, you will get the most value for your money!
To help you map out a personalised study plan, please contact us or book a free, no obligations consultation with one of our friendly staff members.
How can
I become a fluent speaker?
One step at a time! Fluency is as much of a goal as it is a journey. At Lingua, we will accompany you every step along the way, helping you discover new horizons.
For each language, there are six study levels, from A1 for beginners to C2 for proficient speakers. You will already be able to engage in basic conversations after completing level A1. By the time you reach the intermediate levels, B1 and B2, you will be able to communicate with relative ease.
Becoming bilingual takes time, but it is incredibly rewarding. Not only does it look good on a CV, but it allows you to see the world from a different perspective. At Lingua, it is our mission to take you as far as you want to go. The road is long, so let's get started today!
